Reflections on FRAME x FLIGHT
I’m typing this introduction on my phone, struggling with the touchscreen because of my sweaty fingers after an easy 8K run.
It has been 13 days since we launched our collaboration shirt with FRAME on June 3rd at Dubai Design District (D3). We are incredibly honored to have had the opportunity to create something with FRAME, as the space played a significant role in shaping my taste in fashion throughout my late teenage years.
I spent countless hours window shopping there, discovering new brands with every visit. I vividly remember my very first purchase.
It was December 2017, and I had been selected to participate in the D3 Art Market. For those who don't know, I used to do photography (and still occasionally do) and sold prints as a way of making money. I remember selling a decent number of prints during that year's market and earning around 4,000 AED.
On the final night of the event, I packed up my booth at around 9:30 PM and sprinted to FRAME before they closed to buy a jacket I had been eyeing for months. I never really got much wear out of that jacket, but I was incredibly happy with the purchase.
Fast forward to late 2020, when FRAME released its collaboration with Nike: the Nike SB Dunk Low "Habibi."
Despite having nothing to do with the project myself and despite my relationship with FRAME being entirely one-sided at the time I felt immensely proud as an Emirati. Seeing a store based in Dubai collaborate on a shoe with such global influence and reach was special in itself, but even more so because the design drew inspiration from our country and culture.
I personally got into running in June 2022 after reading Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins. A close friend of mine, Saleh Lootah (who was also reading the book around the same time), and I decided that we would run our first full marathon together before the end of the year.
Despite suffering through that marathon in December and arriving at the start line with what I can only describe as questionable preparation we got the job done. That race ended up becoming the beginning of my love for running.
As the years went on, it was exciting to watch FRAME begin shifting toward running and performance equipment. Seeing a store that had influenced my late teens and early twenties become involved in a sport that had become such a major part of my life only deepened my appreciation for it.
Because of all this history, creating our first collaboration tee with FRAME felt like the natural choice. So when the opportunity presented itself, there was no way we could say no.

We are immensely grateful for the way the community showed up and supported the launch. The evening felt genuinely magical. Seeing so many familiar faces and many new ones come together to celebrate the collaboration reminded us why we started FLIGHT in the first place.
