FLIGHT MALLATHON MARATHON REFLECTIONS

I'm sitting down writing my thoughts and reflections right after the second full marathon we've done together as a team, and I could not be more proud of everyone who took part in either or both.

We initially set out to run a full marathon in Dubai Hills Mall on the 15th of August because Khaled and Muhammad Fadel shook hands on it after a speed session with FRAME on the Wednesday before.

It sounded crazy until it didn't.

We had people who had never run further than 18KM decide, almost on a whim, that they were going to run a full marathon that day. Despite it being a little crazy, it's difficult not to be proud of that kind of effort. 

After finishing that first Mallathon Marathon in August, we thought it would be nice to do it one more time before the Dubai Mallathon initiative came to an end on the 15th of September.

We decided that the last Saturday of Mallathon would be a fitting date, which fell on the 12th of the month.

This time, it would be at Dubai Mall.

When we ran the first edition at Dubai Hills Mall, we were allowed to start a little earlier, which gave us ample time to cover the distance. Dubai Mall was a little different. We had to start at 6:00AM sharp, which meant the pace had to be picked up for at least the first half of the run.

The turnout was insane.

Everyone who came out and took part made it truly special. We wouldn't be able to do any of this without the incredible support of this community. Seeing people show up, push themselves, and push each other is what it's all about.

You should all be extremely proud of yourselves for the work you put in today.

We were also honored to have S'hail fly in from Doha just to take part in the second edition of the Mallathon Marathon, which is mind-boggling in the best way possible.
